Specification
Drumstick is a thin, long pod resembling a drumstick, with only the soft, almost jelly-like interior consumed, where the seeds are embedded. These pods, derived from the Moringa tree, are a popular ingredient in vegetable curries. They closely resemble a Drum Stick – the one used for playing Drums, hence deriving their name from it. The pods, known as Drumstick (Shevga), can be cooked entirely with or without peeling, offering a taste similar to asparagus, with nuances depending on the cooking method. Widely used in sambar and lentil preparations, Drumstick (Shevga) blends well with curries, koftas, and can serve as a standalone dish or an excellent side dish. So, why wait?
